Emotional abuse is also a pattern of control disguised as care. Common behaviours include gaslighting, manipulating, lying to them, including in adult topics/conflict, false narrative, emotional alignment.

Understanding who holds a "Position of Trust" is an important part of keeping our children safe. Teachers, coaches, medical professionals, drivers and anyone in authority over a child has a responsibility to protect them.
